信贷 for Prior Learning
杰克逊的大学 may award non-traditional credit for prior experiential learning. 信贷 may be awarded for:
- work completed at non-degree awarding agencies and institutions,
- for certifications/licensures, corporate, professional, or military training programs; or
- 其中之一.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship or Training programs.
The evaluation of experiential learning which occurred prior to or outside a formal academic institution is designed to enable a student to enrich or accelerate his/her program of study. 信贷 is awarded through examination, 技巧演示, evaluation of certifications or licensures, submission of a portfolio, or a不her form of assessment. College credit is 不 awarded based on work experience alone, but for the achievement of an advanced level of knowledge and/or skill. 信贷 for prior learning is designed to grant credit at JC and may or may 不 transfer to other colleges or universities.
Students should discuss with the department chairperson or designee the feasibility of receiving credit for prior learning. The determination of college credit is predicated on prior learning which is considered to be at the college level. Each academic department/program shall determine the criteria, 如果满足的话, will result in the awarding of college credit. The department will determine the assessment methods which may include a written examination, submission of a portfolio that demonstrates the required competencies, 面试, skill evaluation and/or minimum achievement level on nationally standardized tests.
成绩单 show credit only for the course as a result of the assessment, along with the de不ation: “信贷 for Prior Learning”. No grade is transcripted. The student will receive an official 不ice (student transcript) once the credit is posted. 信贷 earned for prior learning will 不 be applied to the graduation minimum of 15 JC credit hours and will 不 count toward the enrollment of a specific term in determining part-time or full-time status.
审查信用
杰克逊的大学 recognizes that some students enter college with proficiencies that warrant college credit. Students may request 审查信用 to demonstrate skills and knowledge in many courses offered by the College. The department exam may be a comprehensive written exam, 口服, 全球网络赌博平台组合评估, 实验室全球网络赌博平台, 计算机程序, timed writings or any combination depending on the subject area.
审查信用 is designed to grant credit at 杰克逊的大学 and may or may 不 transfer to other colleges or universities. Students interested in 审查信用 should obtain a form from the appropriate department chair’s office and discuss with the chair the feasibility of completing the examination. If the application for 审查信用 is approved, it will be assigned to a faculty member who will contact the student and provide more information about the examination.
Students must be aware of the following:
- You are limited to one attempt at 审查信用 per course.
- 你可能 不 use 审查信用 as a method for repeating a course.
- The credit earned by examination will 不 be applied to the graduation minimum of 12 credit hours that must be completed at JC.
- In order to receive credit via 审查信用, you must earn a grade of 2.0或更高. Before the credit will be posted to your transcript, any fees associated with the exam must be 支付 给收银员.
- Your transcript will show credits earned for the course for 审查信用, CR /交货, 不是一个等级.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The College Board offers examinations designed to assess competence usually obtained by taking beginning level, 大学课程. 这个程序叫做 CLEP (College Level Examination Program), enables students to earn credit for courses by successfully completing a test. Listed below are the conditions under which credit may be granted for the College Level Examination Program – in many subject areas this includes writing an essay in addition to successfully passing the exam. The American Council on Education (ACE) has developed a recommended credit-granting score and number of semester hours of credit for each CLEP exam.
Advanced Placement Program
Many prospective 杰克逊的大学 students take Advanced Placement (AP) examinations through the College Board during their junior and/or senior year in high school. On many AP examinations, scores of 4 or better will earn academic credit; in a few cases, a score of 3 may result in credit. AP credit may be reassessed by your transfer institution when you transfer.
To receive credit for your AP exams/scores requires that your exams and scores appear on an official high school transcript or that you submit an official AP 分数 Sheet. Please have the official AP 分数 Sheet sent to:
